Email and Office 365

Student Email
Your coillege email account is accessed by logging into the Microsoft service portal https://login.microsoftonline.com/ using the email address and a password - initially supplied to each student when they join the college.

The Student Email service is part of the Office365 suite of products provided by Microsoft®

You can always contact IT Support for assistance with email and Outlook issues; however, self-sufficiency with regard to email management can significantly improve your productivity (and stress levels). Refer to the Microsoft website for further guidance.

If email access stops working from your mobile phone or tablet, it is usually because you have recently changed your main login account password (which is used also for connecting to your University email account). Whenever you change your login account password, the password stored in your mobile device—which the device uses to connect to the College's email server—will always need to be manually updated to match it. Go to the appropriate guide if you are not sure how to do this:
  • How to configure email on an Apple iOS device
  • How to configure email on an Android device
  • Troubleshooting OUtlook Mobile issues
Office 365
The service is available to all registered students. It is accessed via the Microsoft Service Portal using an Internet Browser. The link to the service portal is: https://login.microsoftonline.com/

All current registered students have access  to the following cloud-based Office365 core applications via internet/browser:
  • Outlook Web App - email, Calendar/Meetings, Contacts, Task Manager (50GB total space available for storage of emails, appointments, tasks, etc., including mail  inbox).
  • Office  Online - online versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. These offer reduced functionality when compared with the full, installable versions of the  Microsoft Office applications.
    Comparison with full-featured Office Products
  • OneDrive - 1  terabyte of personal file storage.
  • Office365 Stream- a portal where Users can post and view video content.
In addition:
  • Current students are licensed to download, install and use the full  Microsoft Office Application Suite - Microsoft  Office ProPlus - on their personal Windows PCs/laptops, and various subsets  of the Application Suite on MACs and mobile devices*.
*At the time of publishing, this comprises: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook client, OneNote, Publisher and Access. The suite (or a subset thereof - depending on device) can be installed on up to 5 Windows PCs/laptops or MACs, plus 5 tablets (Windows, iPad or Android) plus 5 phones (various types supported).

Important note: When a student leaves college, their Office365 functionality is withdrawn.  Any underlying stored data files, emails, calendar events, etc. are lost and cannot be recovered. Please make a backup of anything you want to keep on a personal storage device or area
